After the rigorous training with Ethan, I could barely move my muscles, and as I sat alone in the balcony near my bedroom, I couldn’t help but think about my past life with Aric Stormheart.
My mind drifted back to a time when things were simpler and happier after marrying the love of my life. Then, I thought about the day when Luke Skywalker visited my Mom. I asked her about but she said that Luke just ran an errand at that time. So, I just dismissed the idea that Luke was connected to me from the start.
After the wedding, I remembered the long summer days we spent together while trying our best to conceive an heir. Aric and I used to be so good together and I was the happiest Luna.

I remembered the holidays when our residence would be filled with laughter and good food. His nanny would bake pies and cookies for us, and we would gather around the table, sharing our plans for the future.
But then everything changed when Aric and Vanessa betrayed me.
Still, I missed those days, the warmth and love of my husband. I missed the sound of his laughter whenever we were in bed, and most of all, I missed the times when he was so in love with me, as if I was the only woman in the entire world!
Before marrying Aric Stormheart, I believe we were fated to each other. I believe that first love never dies. I believed he was the one who would look out for me, and I would do the same. I believed he would always be with me, like a fire in the dead of winter, or a blanker in the dead of the night.
They said we were destined for each other, and our fate was all written in the stars. We were mated to each other, and I believed I was too fortunate to have him as my mate. Before their betrayal, Aric was my everything!
We would have been so good together….and forever! But then, he slept with my friend, Vanessa Covington, and regardless if it didn’t happen yet, I couldn’t imagine myself being close with Aric again.

Once again, I closed my eyes, and suddenly I was transported back to a time when I was trying my best to make him happier. Then, I laughed at my stupidity. Why was I so in love with him back then?
Why didn’t I notice that Vanessa was also in love with him? Vanessa and I were always together, and she was glued to me most of the time, and yet, I was so blind to how she felt for Aric Stormheart. If only I paid more attention to her that time, maybe I would have noticed she felt something for my man, and she would do anything to have him.
Gosh, I shivered in disbelief at the thought of being with him again. Then, as I realized I had enough rest from the training, I left the balcony and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower. It was so quick that it didn’t last ten minutes to get out of the bathroom.
After changing into a simple dress, I went outside and searched for my mother. When I realized I was given another chance to live my life, I have decided to spend more time with Mom because I knew she wouldn’t have more years to live.

At the hallway, I asked one of the servants who was cleaning the floor about my Mom’s whereabouts, and she told me that Mom was in the kitchen. After thanking her, I strutted my way to the kitchen, where I saw my mother’s smile lighting up the room.
From the looks of it, she was baking my Dad’s favorite cake, and I could smell the sweet scent of vanilla and sugar filling the air. Dad probably needed to satisfy his sweet tooth after our argument. He always wanted to have some sweets whenever I would give him something to be stressed about.
And, I believed my guess was correct, because a few seconds later, Dad came strutting into the kitchen. He wore a wide smile, and ready to hug my Mom but upon seeing me, he immediately frowned. In response, I rolled my eyes at him. While Mom was baking a cake, Dad was sitting nearby and he spent his time reading a newspaper while sipping coffee.
“Are you two having a misunderstanding once again?” Mom asked without looking at me because she was busy with the cake.
“Why don’t you talk to your daughter, darling? She’s too stubborn for her good!” Dad complained.
“I am not stubborn, Dad. I just don’t want to get married,” I corrected him.
“But why? I have already explained why you need a husband, Isabella!”
“And I also told you why I don’t need one, Daddy. You saw me earlier. Ethan was helping me to become strong, and sooner or later, I would be capable of leading this pack alone.”
“Do you think so?”
“I believe so, Dad.”
“Both of you, shut up! If you are just going to fight here, then leave!”
Dad and I were both shocked when Mom shouted at us. Seeing that she was so flustered and disappointed, I immediately asked for forgiveness. Dad did the same, but throughout the whole time that we were watching Mom, the Luna of Pembroke was pouting.
But then, when the cake was done, she couldn’t stop herself from smiling. At that moment, Dad and I had a truce to be careful when Mom was around. Afterward, I asked for permission to go shopping in the City because I believed I needed a new wardrobe.
However, Dad said no, and I couldn’t go against his wishes in front of Mom.
Later on, I asked Mom if we could go to the nearest park, and we could bring her freshly baked cake as our food. She agreed. Dad also agreed. So we went there, and I was emotional while spending time with my parents.
When the evening came, the night was unusually cold, and I was agitated. The cold breeze made me uncomfortable, and I was reminded of the time I spent in the dungeon after Aric punished me for something I didn’t do.
The thick comforter did nothing to help me cope with the cold breeze. I hugged myself while hoping for a little warmth, but there was none. I was really cold! Then, while was hoping for a warm body to comfort me on a cold night, I saw Luke Skywalker’s face inside my head.
I was so startled when I saw his face inside my head that I had to get up, and roll over from bed. Then, I decided to go outside. I needed to clear my head, and since the moon was bright, taking a walk in the garden was a good choice.
“Oh shit, why are you here?” I asked in disbelief when I saw Luke standing outside my room.
