“I just wanted to give it to you.” I looked at the necklace and shrugged.
“It’s beautiful, Barbara. I like it a lot.” Mom held the beautiful macrame necklace in her hands, running her fingers over the intricate knots and patterns, a smile spreading across her face.
“I can help you put it on mom.”I quickly went to help Fae Aurora put the beautiful necklace around her graceful neck. She smiled happily, radiating joy and gratitude.
A sudden knock on the door took us by surprise, and Fae Aurora looked at me in confusion. I went to answer the door and found Dave, standing outside with a frown on his face.
“Luna?”
“Hi, Dave. What brings you here?”
“Hi Luna, sorry to interrupt, but the dinner feast is ready in the dining room. Everyone is waiting for you and your mom to join,” Dave informed with a warm smile.
“Already?” I raised an eyebrow, clearly astounded. “How did the dinner get ready so soon?”
He chuckled nervously, trying to come up with a plausible explanation. “Um, well, I guess the kitchen staff worked really efficiently today.”
I nodded, my frown turning into a smile. “Well, they must have worked some magic then.”
“Sawyer and Asher waiting for you and their grandma, Luna. Let’s not keep them waiting any longer.” Dave smiling so heartwarming and genuine, Dave led us towards the dining room where our loved ones eagerly awaited our arrival.
Asher stood up as we entered the dining room, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“Hey mom, Grandma, we saved you a couple of bites from each dish,” he said, gesturing to the array of tantalizing dishes spread across the table. “But you have to choose wisely because I can’t promise they’ll still be there in a minute.”
Sawyer grinned and added, “Yeah, you better hurry before I eat them all!”
Jangan dipakai dulu.
The aroma of the delicious dinner filled the air, and I couldn’t be happier with the menu. I made my way towards the dining table, feeling a sense of contentment as I prepared to sit between my loved ones.
“Wow, this meal looks amazing,” I exclaimed as I took in the beautifully plated dishes in front of me.
“Absolutely, it looks incredible,” Fae Aurora chimed in, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Dave cleared his throat awkwardly, fidgeting with the edge of his napkin as he attempted to explain the feast he had prepared.
“Well, you see, I thought we’d start with some hearty beef stew, followed by a refreshing garden salad with homemade dressing. And for the main course, I’ve prepared a special dish of Mediterranean grilled chicken with a side of roasted vegetables.” He paused, realizing he was rambling, and nervously added, “I hope it all tastes as good as it sounds.”
“Dave, this all looks and smells absolutely incredible,” I reassured him, beaming with pride. “You really outdid yourself tonight.”
Fae Aurora nodded in agreement, her eyes sparkling with gratitude as she looked at Dave. “Yes, Dave, everything looks delicious. Thank you so much for putting in the effort to make this wonderful meal for us.”
Before Dave could respond to our praise, Timothee suddenly approached us in a startled manner.
“I couldn’t help but overhear your menu, and I couldn’t resist coming over to see for myself. It all sounds so amazing!” he exclaimed with genuine excitement, a wide smile spreading across his face. It was clear that he was impressed by his Butler effort.
Dave looked slightly taken aback by Timothee’s sudden appearance but quickly regained his composure.
“Please, Lycan, you’re just in time. There’s plenty to go around. Please, have a seat and enjoy your meals,” Dave offered warmly, gesturing to the empty chair beside him.
Timothee gladly accepted the invitation, expressing his gratitude as he settled into the seat.
“I had no idea I was in for such a treat tonight. Thank you, Dave, for this incredible meal,” he said with genuine appreciation, making Dave visibly proud of his culinary efforts.
As we dug into the feast Dave had prepared, the flavors exploded on our tongues, and I couldn’t help but marvel at his culinary skills. Each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures, a testament to the love and care he had put into every element of the meal.
“Dave, this beef stew is so rich and savory, it’s absolutely perfect,” I exclaimed after the first spoonful.
Fae Aurora chimed in, “The grilled chicken is so juicy and flavorful, Dave. You’ve really outdone yourself.”
Finally, Timothee added, with a wide grin, “And these roasted vegetables are the perfect complement to the main course.”
Dave smiled, a mixture of pride and relief washing over his face. “I’m so glad you both are enjoying it. I just wanted to make this a special evening for all of us.”
“I wasn’t expecting that, Dave. You’ve got some serious cooking skills!” Timothee mumbling while chewing his salad.
Dave felt a sense of pride as he watched Timothee savoring the flavors of the dish. He had always been passionate about cooking, and it was a joy to see his friend appreciating his culinary efforts.
“Thanks, Lycan,” Dave replied with a humble smile. “I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Cooking has always been a passion of mine.”
As Dave basked in the warmth of Timothee’s praise, suddenly Fae aurora coughed so badly that it caught everyone’s attention. Concern etched on their faces as they turned to her, I am offering water and asking if she was okay.
Fae aurora waved them off, assuring everyone that it was just a bit of food gone down the wrong pipe. But the worry lingered in the air, casting a shadow over the joyful atmosphere.
“Mom are you sure?” I asked in worried way.
“Please, let me know if there’s anything I can do,” Dave added, his concern evident in his voice.
Fae Aurora waved off their concern with a weak smile, assuring them, “I’m okay, just a tickle in my throat.”
She coughed again, the sound still raspy and unsettling. “I’m fine, really.”
Despite her words, her continued coughing was a cause for concern, and the worry lingered in the air like a heavy cloud.
Timothee, looking concerned, insisted, “You should sit down for a bit, mom. Let me get you something soothing for your throat.”
Dave’s heart sank as he watched Fae Aurora coughing, her discomfort evident. “I’m so sorry, Fae Aurora. I really hope it’s nothing serious,” Dave said with genuine concern. He couldn’t shake off the feeling of guilt, wondering if he had inadvertently used an ingredient that triggered her coughing fit.
As Timothee went to get something soothing for Fae Aurora’s throat, Dave racked his brain, trying to remember all the ingredients he had used in the dish. Suddenly, it dawned on him that he had used a spice mix that included one of the things that Fae Aurora was allergic to.
“I think I might know what caused this, Fae Aurora. I am so sorry,” Dave said, his voice filled with remorse. “I used a spice mix that contained sage extract, and I didn’t realize it could cause such a reaction. Please forgive me. I’ll make sure to be more careful in the future.”
“Dave, how could you be so careless?” I exclaimed, my voice filled with fury. “You know about her allergy, and yet you still used that spice mix without checking the ingredients properly! You could have seriously harmed her!”
